Enhancing Pipeline Crack Management

Conducting a Pressure Cycle Fatigue Analysis (PCFA) Has Never Been Easier

The Advanced Crack module applies technically proven fracture mechanics models, predictive analytics, and automated reporting to enhance decision-making for asset integrity teams.

Once pressure data is uploaded directly into AIP, a Pressure Cycle Fatigue Analysis is then conducted on the entire pipeline with a unique remaining life assigned to each crack and crack-like anomaly.

Take the guesswork out of crack fatigue analysis with the built-in Crack PCFA module.

Powerful Benefits of Our Advanced Crack Module

Leverage Proven Fracture Models

Assess a pipeline’s susceptibility to cyclic fatigue by conducting a pressure cycle fatigue analysis using uploaded pressure data. The module will then generate a cyclic index for each crack or crack-like anomaly identified from an inline inspection.

Generate MAT-8 Burst Curves

Calculate the failure pressure using Raju-Newman, Modified Log-Secant, and MAT-8 to drive repair decisions. Multiple inline inspections can also be used to derive non-fatigue-related growth rates.

Fitness-for-Service Engineering Analysis

Estimate the fatigue crack growth rate, critical crack size, and remaining life of all cracks, utilizing MAT-8 with the click of a button. The results of this analysis can then be used to identify anomalies for evaluation or repair.

Automated Analysis Reporting

Download detailed reports with key insights into the anomaly analysis, including failure pressure and remaining life, as well as the estimated cyclic index, providing an assessment of the cyclic fatigue susceptibility.
